As a full time Floridian, I’ll admit I’m starting to love summers in the Midwest especially this year.

For the second summer in a row, my now husband and I went to the midwest to see family, friends and enjoy everything Indiana and Ohio has to offer.
We left from Tampa International Airport to Indianapolis, Indiana.
Although it was suppose to be an hour and forty minute flight to Indianapolis, we did have a short delay in Atlanta.
After all, I was glad to make it to our destination safely.
The first thing I observed once we arrived was the humidity was low and the temperature was 78 degrees in the middle of the day and nighttime low was 61 degrees.
I found myself needing a light sweater just to stay a little warm during the evening hours.
What I loved best about the cooler air, was my curls stayed curled and my makeup remained flawless without any touch ups.
Now that’s always a win win in my book.
After spending a few days with my sister and mother-in-law in Indianapolis, we drove though miles of soybean, corn and wheat fields and farms to the near by state of Ohio to see more friends and family.
Just as Indiana, Ohio had beautiful weather as well.
I must admit, the restaurants here has great food selections and every thing I had was really good.
However, the portions are big.
In my opinion, they’re big enough to serve four or more people while the prices were super affordable compared to most restaurants in Florida.
The highlight of the trip was unexpected.
While enjoying and exploring the streets of Ohio, my husband’s friends and family throw us a surprise party to celebrate our big milestone.
We officially got married June 12th.
As an introvert and sometimes a private person, I didn’t want a big wedding or parties.
Just courthouse and announcement to close family and friends.
Call me too simple when it comes to weddings but personally I’d rather save that money for something more practical and meaningful.
For example, like taking a nice trip or investing in to the relationship.
However, that’s for another discussion and topic for another time.
I’m so thankful and surprised that everyone took the time to prepare, cook and bake a cake with touches of love.
My heart melted and trust me, it doesn’t melt too often.
Can’t end this post without sharing a few fashionable outfits I wore during summer in the midwest.
One of the outfits I wore in Indiana, it this gorgeous mini dress.
I features yellow polka dots all over, ruffle hem, puff sleeves and it’s an all around a cute dress.
I kept it fabulously casual with flats as I didn’t pack too much heels for this trip.

I bought this dress a few years ago however, I’ll add similar looks down below.
Paired it with a mini bag, closed toes flats and a light sweater.

This all white mini dress I wore in Ohio for dinner.
Paired it with white wedges and gold bag.
While in Ohio, I attended an outdoor festival in a nearby town called Waldo.
Similar looks to my outfit.
Spent our last 48 hours in Ohio enjoying the beautiful weather poolside.
By the way, my swim top and bottom are currently on sale.
Overall, summer in the midwest was well worth it.
I had a great time reuniting with my now in laws, familiar faces and meeting new people in the Midwest.
One thing I observed, the people I came across were very polite, warm, God loving and down to Earth Americans.
My husband and I are currently looking to get a summer vacation home in Ohio to escape the hot Florida summers.
