On today’s post, I thought I’d do something a little different.
My goal here is to not only share fabulous fashions and travel but it’s to also inspire and encourage everyone to feel and be the best version of themselves. That includes your mental health.
Times of hardships often brings discouragement and confusion.
Here are 5 ways on How To Stay Sane During Difficult Times.
- Take a deep breath: During stressful times, our bodies tend to tense up and becomes a sponge to the energy around us. Taking a minute or two to simply sit down and take deep slow breathes in and out, is a great way to send oxygen to the brain and properly process the situation. Also, don’t forget to stay hydrated.
- Go for a walk: Personally I enjoy long solo walks on the beach whether I’m having a wonderful day or not. Walking is a great form of exercise to help simulate your brain. After a few minutes of walking, one can sometimes solve problems to a situation or forget about things that is not in your control.
- Pray or meditate: Growing up my mother always told me if I faced any problems in life, God had the answers for it. Reaching for her Bible, she would literally point out specific Psalms or Proverbs to read. I sure do miss her. Generally speaking, praying or mediating is much needed to help balance your thoughts during difficult times.
- Surround yourself with positive people: Sometimes this step is easier said than done. It’s vitally important to have people who are genuinely there for you in good and bad times. Plus, I’m a form believer whether it’s “so called” family or friends, if they’re not bring positivity into your life…CUT THEM OFF.
- Do some charity work: Through my experience, I’ve found that helping others in my community helps keep me sane during difficult times. Helping others not only distract your mind to something else but it also brings good karma and energy to your life. Food Banks and other charities are always looking for volunteers. So get involved and help someone in need.
Overall, staying sane during difficult times is not easy especially during times of political chaos, health issues or financial crisis.
Just know there are ways to help you cope with situations life throws at you.
In addition, it’s okay to see a therapist if needed.
Your mental health is your first priority.
