Love is in the air and I must say, my first love is my best love.
The word love comes in many languages like “amor” in Spanish and “l’amour” in French (just to name a few). However, they all have the same definition whether it’s being expressed towards someone or yourself.
Throughout my adult years, I’ve really learned the power behind love and that’s why my first love is to myself. Some may say it’s selfish because love should be spread out which I totally agree. However, in order to love others, one must love themselves first. Once you have learned to accept and love yourself, that’s when you start to grow and see yourself in a new light. With that light you can then shine your love to others.
On Valentines Day, some might feel left out or unloved because they’re single. In my opinion, that’s a great time to start loving on you more if you haven’t in the past. Quite honestly, one should love on themselves EVERYDAY whether you’re coupled or single, not just on Valentines Day.
Overall, your first love should always be to yourself. Self-love is a priority in life. Once you’ve experienced it and felt it, then share it with others.
