Inner Joy During The Holidays

As we’re surrounded with cheers of joy, bright lights and cheerful melodies; for some, finding inner joy during the holidays can be challenging.

During our childhood years, some of us remember being excited to see presents under the tree and anticipating on unwrapping them on Christmas morning or singing Christmas carols around the chimney. 

As adults, we sometimes forget those that are not having a joyuos holiday season.

In today’s economy, some are having a hard time putting food on the table, paying bills or those who has loss loved ones around this time of the year. 

For example, ever since my mother passed away, I find myself reminiscing of all the Christmas’ and New Year’s we enjoyed together.

Every Christmas carol or church hymn bring back memories of her.

I miss her everyday but I find myself missing her more during the holidays.

I’m thankful to have my husband, son and very few friends to remind me that my mother is always with me in spirit. 

It’s vitally important to not forget those who aren’t having a Merry Christmas or aren’t looking forward to New Year festivities.

Finding inner joy during the holidays is not easy for some.

Perhaps you know someone who’s going through an illness, depression or cancer diagnosis.

The best thing to do is to reach out to them, talk them out where it’s just the two of you, and let them know that you sincerely care for their well being. 

In conclusion, finding inner joy during the holidays is not easy for some.

However, offering genuine friendship, being there with a listening ear and warm hugs goes a long way to those that aren’t in a festive mood due to tragedy or depression.
